FIVE MEN'S FASHION FOR WINTER 2020

When it gets to this stage of the year, we tend to start thinking a little bit about the winter months appearing on the horizon. Sure, we’re still enjoying our summer wears for a while longer, but all that will change when the leaves start to fall and we stay indoors to play drifting games. If you’re interested in getting a head start on your autumn/winter wardrobe, read on for some of these coming trends.

Puffer Vests

Puffer vests come and go. Sometimes they are the height of fashion; other times, you forget they even exist. That’s until you see a guy wearing one on the street and decide they are actually pretty cool. This winter expect to see more puffer vests around; this wave is growing again and looming large above our heads.

A puffer vest is a versatile piece of clothing that is both practical and fashionable. It offers you freedom of movement and a warm chest as if you were wearing a full parka. With a soft interior and a waterproof outer, a puffer vest is perfect for any occasion. If you’re a quiet person, you can stick to darker, more neutral colors, but a puffer vest can really stand out too, for those extroverts.

Striped Sweaters

When the winter sets in and the air gets cold, in your flat or on the street, it doesn’t have to be gloomy. Think of it as an opportunity to break-out a new or secondhand striped sweater. There’s a reason why sweaters are one of the best gifts for men in the colder months - perhaps it’s because winter is so dark and gloomy that we choose to wear bright colors and patterns. This year look out for guys wearing striped sweaters, or better yet, buy your own and join the trend.

A striped sweater is a universally flattering style that suits almost any guy, whatever their size or shape. They can look cozy, comfortable, and effortless, at bars in the city or nights in with your loved one. There are loads of styles to choose from, tight sweaters or a low hanging one, ones with turn-up sleeves. This winter season opt for contrasting colors, red and blue, or pink and black, to help you stand-out.

Fishermans’ Beanies

Chances are you already have a range of fisherman’s beanies stuffed in our drawers waiting patiently for the winter nights to arrive. It’s not much of a surprise since these beanie hats never seem to go out of style. It’s a good thing too because nobody wants to have to brace the cold without one.

Get online or go to your local high street this autumn and check out what beanie hats they have. There are always some in the shops this time of year, but the styles are always changing. Probably why you have so many of them, it’s a good thing too because our moods are always changing and it’s nice to have some options.

Bright Blue Hues

Do you ever wonder how fashion trends are predicted? One of the ways is by analyzing and reviewing the major fashion shows and listening to experts; another way is by simply noting what people are wearing and thinking about where they might have got the idea. The color of the year is also useful – this year it’s bright blue.

This doesn’t have to mean you go out and by a whole new wardrobe that is completely blue – that might not work. But if you keep the color of the year in mind when buying new outfits, you can add the color blue to new and existing clothes in a subtle way. Socks, for instance, or undershirts, maybe a blue beanie hat, or blue-trimmed glasses. Whatever the weather does this year, you are sure to look hotter wearing the color blue.

Bold Patterned pants

Loud and proud is big in winter 2020! It’s not for the faint of heart, but don’t worry if you’re an introvert; the loud colors can symbolize your inner power. This trend has been building for the last few years, perhaps in tandem with the popularity of yoga and acceptability of loud, tight pants with lots of patterns. It was only a matter of time before the style slipped into the mainstream.

Once commonplace in the 70s, bold patterned pants are no longer just for the dance hall during the disco era. They can be worn anywhere, even formally. Some people think that loud pants signal a loud personality, but the truth is, bold patterned pants look great on quiet people too, and indicate an inner color and strength. Anything from tie-dye to graphic patterns is popular with this trend and is guaranteed to light up a dreary winter.
